Where does the data come from?
Directly from each state's Secretary of State office. We collect from the primary source, not aggregators or third-party resellers, so records match the authoritative registry.
How often is data updated?
Monthly. New filings, status changes and amendments from each registry are collected, normalized and delivered every month, via both the API and bulk exports.

How are API credits counted?
Search API usage is charged at 1 credit per row returned. A response with 25 entity rows uses 25 credits; a response with no rows uses 0 credits. Direct lookups by entity number are a single credit.
Can I get historical and dissolved entities?
Yes. Coverage includes active and inactive records (dissolved, revoked, withdrawn and merged) with name and status history going back 20+ years where the registry provides it.
